On October 25, the national semi-final results of the 11th National Interpretation Competition (English) were announced. Ten students majoring in English from the School of English in our school won awards, of which 4 won the first prize, 2 won the second prize, and 4 won the third prize.
Students from our School of English competed on the same stage with contestants from colleges and universities in 11 provinces (cities and districts) including Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi, and Hainan in the Western Division. After careful preliminary preparations and fierce competition, the students who translated from Spanish demonstrated their proficiency in the competition and their profound skills in spoken English.
The leaders of the English School provided guidance for the competition. Wang Yinghui, director of the first English department, and Zhang Jie, head of the English interpretation team, followed up on students’ participation throughout the process and urged students to actively prepare for the competition.
After the competition, the participating students sincerely thanked the school and college for their support and the guidance of their instructors.
