National Scholarship Winner: Li Siying
“Don’t stop chasing the wind and the moon, for there are spring mountains everywhere.” There is such a group of young people who surpass themselves and pursue excellence when facing the future and ideals. In ordinary youth, you exude your own youthful light in your own way.
"The road is at your feet, and all gains are surprises." This sentence is Li Siying's motto, and it is also her understanding of what the old dean Ding Zuyi often said, "Dare to ask where the road is?" Wherever the road is, the road is under your feet, which is a kind of responsibility for yourself, because only by taking every step step by step can you go far and be qualified to make new choices.
It is understood that Li Siying won the second prize in the semi-finals of the 3rd German Longnisch (Hengshui) International Piano Competition. She said that she did not learn piano since she was a child, but she had the opportunity to be exposed to such a competition. Even if it was a huge challenge for her, she never thought of giving up. Instead, she faced the difficulties, devoted her time, and practiced repeatedly.
“It starts with interest, ends with persistence, and ends with love.” Li Siying mentioned that she loves her major very much. It has always been her dream to become a teacher and teach and educate people. She had gained a lot in her university life, but also had some regrets. When she faced difficulties and was sad, the teacher's help and guidance strengthened her ideal of standing on a three-foot podium and becoming a teacher.
From the south of Caiyun to the ancient capital Xi'an, Li Siying has had many experiences. In the process, she has become braver and more confident. Of course, she also encountered many setbacks.
“The years have become more peaceful because of youth’s generous efforts, and the world has become more beautiful because of young people stepping forward.” Talking about her plans for the future, Li Siying told reporters that she would return to her hometown of Yunnan and take the examination to become a teacher. Contribute to the construction of your hometown and write an extraordinary life in an ordinary position.
Finally, Li Siying sent a message to the students to plan their lives, know what they are doing, not to be too entangled in the choices they have made, and to move forward in a down-to-earth manner. Take every class seriously, complete your homework, and do more things that you like and are meaningful. Interest is the best teacher.
