On April 15th and 16th, 2019, the bet365 sports betting platform of Literature and Media of our bet365 sports betting platform held the non-foreign language major English speech contest and debate contest respectively in classroom 10T21. The competition was judged by teachers such as Zhao Qing, Ma Danrong, Jin Xuefei, He Jin, Lin Jia, Liu Lichun, Zhang Xiuping, and Liu Wei.
Before the start of the competition, the host gave a detailed explanation of the competition process, allowing the judges, players and audiences present to understand the rules of the competition faster and better.
In the speech competition, the contestants instantly conquered the audience with their fluent speaking, elegant gestures, and stunning talents. Some contestants' speech styles were natural and elegant, while others were humorous, bringing a visual and auditory feast to the audience.
In the debate, the contestants spoke actively and were able to refute each other's arguments in a very short time, which also reflected their superior debate skills and extraordinary coping abilities. Contestants in each group were able to seize various opportunities and conquer the audience and judges present with their concise and sharp language, mature temperament and humorous style.
After the two games, teacher Liu Wei made comments. She made suggestions on the deficiencies of each contestant from a professional perspective, with particular emphasis on issues such as attitude and pronunciation. She also provided suggestions and methods for daily English speaking practice for students.
This English speech and debate competition provides students with a stage to demonstrate their English speaking and English skills and an opportunity to learn from each other.
